About the Author:Dr Nigel Greenwood
is an Australian political writer. A former international university
debater, he began writing this book after having successfully
argued both sides of the republican debate in Brisbane and Oxford,
and deciding the case for the Crown was inherently stronger.
He was later awarded a Menzies Fellowship to the UK to complete
his research on the manuscript; he spent the scholarship at Merton
College, Oxford. Seven years after this project began, For
the Sovereignty of the People was at last published. Dr Greenwood was a formal delegate to the Gladstone Constitutional Convention, held on the 17th-18th June 1999, to debate the implications for the Australian States of the Republic referendum. He has been interviewed on the BBC World Service and has appeared on Sky News regarding the republican debate. |
